Why Leonardo Da Vinci Fled Italy

It is a great thrill to drive up to the house in Florence where da Vinci was born and lived for the first few years of his life. It is a simple house built on a hill in a countryside setting but not the place that a genius would spend his time as an adult. His environment was one of learning from a very young age the skill of painting and doing things with his hands. He became a master if the craft and did many wonderful works in Florence for the Church and others. His most famous painting is the Mona Lisa which he is suspected of carrying with him when he fled to France.
